METROK, SUCCESS

KLCI ended +0.7% at 1064.60 led by gains in plantation, construction and select blue chips. MULPHA, TDM

KLCI ended down 1% at 1057.23 from intraday high of 1065.33 in heavy volume of 1.04 billion shares with losers outnumbering gainers almost 4-to-1; bargain hunting on blue chips and strong quarterly results from MAS may help KLCI reverse some losses tomorrow, possibly retest psychological resistance at 1060. Weak Asian markets, following sharp declines in U.S. stocks overnight, weighed on the market. The pullback has been long overdue after almost three weeks of strong gains. Host of penny stocks, small caps posted double digit losses in percentage terms as retail players locked-in profits and stayed on sidelines.

FAQ 3

There was an interesting question e-mailed to me yesterday.
Dr. Karena wrote:

"It seems that Ur Cap Ayam indicators largely based on Fibonacci Tools? Can Fibonacci Trading become Safer & Profitable?"

For me, since I'm a swing/short term trader - Timing is the most crucial element in trading. It is important to know what and when to buy. All the Fibonacci signals is the result from geometrical interpretation of market price patterns. All the Fibonacci mechanism are based on understanding of investors' behavior expressed in TOP and BOTTOM formations.

The most beautiful things about Fibonacci is that, in certain instances, Fibonacci can forecast trend changes in PRICE and TIME. However forecasting in this way, does not mean we can say in advance whether a turning point is going to be triggered, but if a precalculated price target is reached, we can safely act accordingly.

Working with Fibonacci actually is very easy than it seems to be, it only takes nothing more than swing highs and lows and the GOLDEN RATIO. The greatest difficulty is choosing correct swing highs or lows.

Using the Fibonacci tools will not ensure that we never suffer losing trades, but we can expect the majority of trades to be profitable.

Cheers,
TS

KLCI, SPOTMNTH, BURSA, EKSONS, SCOMAL, SPOLYMR, CEPAT, MEASAT

The bulls continued to charge forward, spurred by encouraging economic-stimulating news on the home front and positive leads from abroad, such as the strong performance of regional exchanges, Wall Street's sustainable rally and plummeting global crude oil prices. Profit-taking activity appears well absorbed and any pullback is brief and shallow. The prevailing underlying tone of the local bourse is extremely upbeat. Given the positive developments in the US, Bursa Malaysia may just extend the upward thrust in the immediate term, with sporadic profit taking along the way. After all, technical indicators are still painting a promising picture. We had seen some sideways trading on Friday but volume remained strong -- there had been a mixture of both local and foreign funds buying. However early next week, trading is likely to turn relatively quiet after the three-day-long UMNO (ruling United Malays National Organization) general assembly ended.

The week saw Bursa Malaysia powering ahead on aggressive follow-through interest while the bulls continued to ride on market strength. Glaring advancers during the week were typical blue-chip issues and quality stocks in the plantation, banking, construction and timber sectors, leading the CI to a highest level since July 31, 1997. This group of stocks is usually associated with the big boys, implying that foreign funds and local institutional investors are already in the market, betting on more scaling on expectations of Malaysia's steady economic growth going forward. The daily volume which is consistently on the high side gives us the notion that investor confidence is mounting. Any pullback in the CI owing to profit-taking activity would be shallow and temporary. Thus this will give those who have missed the boat a chance to participate.

Technically, indicators are bullish and the current strong momentum may bring the benchmark index to higher ground in the near term. However, Bursa Malaysia has been running in an overbought condition for a moment without taking a noteworthy break. Therefore, it is about time the market undergoes some sort of consolidation to avoid overheating, with the key index expected to trade range-bound this week.

To the upside, the CI will be facing an initial resistance at 1,025 points, followed closely by 1,040. The immediate support is expected at 1,015.

(Killing Zone)

KLCI ends +1.3% at 1019.93 in heavy volume of 1.02 billion shares, very likely to test 1025 resistance tomorrow in follow through trade. Both foreign and local institutions having been plowing funds into construction stocks ahead of the award of infrastructure projects outlined in the Ninth Malaysia Plan. Palm oil stocks extended gains on hopes growing demand for biodiesel will support higher crude palm oil prices. A number of laggard heavyweights and turnaround stories attracted heavy buying interest.

KLCI ends down 0.5% at 993.30 on profit-taking in heavyweights. market likely to extend declines, test 990 as market consolidates last week's gains. The heavyweights-led rally to a high of 1000.06 failed to sustain its momentum as investors took their cues from weaker U.S. stocks (Friday) and rise in crude oil prices. Also notes double limit-down by Sugar Bun to intraday low MYR1.45 hurt retail sentiment, causing selldown in broader market.

TOMYPAK, PA lai liao

Bad News from Wall Street:
Wall Street’s rally stumbled over the past week as investors were caught off-guard by data highlighting inflation concerns, and amid caution ahead of Tuesday’s congressional election.
Full Report

Local Front:

However, the mounting overbought reading of the daily/weekly slow-stochastic momentum indices and the 14-day RSI suggest that our market is due for correction, and any pullback is likely to be shallow and healthy, giving investors the opportunity to accumulate more.
